Paris Lit Up London Launch – part 1, Brick Lane

May 20, 2015 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

PLU Lights Up London!

Paris Lit Up is celebrating its most recent magazine publication on the other side of La Manche and would like to invite you to an evening of poetry and prose readings from special contributors followed by an open mic at the Verge Bar in Shoreditch, London on Wednesday May 20.

Wednesday May 20

The Verge Bar, Brick Lane.

14-118 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 6DG.

8pm onwards

We’re crashing the monthly ‘Spoken’ open mic with special guest Harry Man, followed by readings from many of the other talented writers and artists in the magazine.

Through transparency and overlapping reflection, the words and images in this collection caress each other in open cooperation and collective conversation, creating unexpected synergies and new realms. Come and be part of our community where language, ideas and desires are shared and celebrated.

Our special guest reader is the poet Harry Man! Harry is the 2014 winner of The Bridges of Struga Award for his first pamphlet, Lift (Tall Lighthouse). It was also nominated for ‘Best Pamphlet’ in the 2014 Sabotage Awards. In 2015 he was selected for the Versopolis project, touring festivals across Europe. Finders Keepers a collaboration with illustrator Sophie Gainsley is forthcoming from Sidekick Books.

Magazines will be on sale on the night, and you are welcome to sign up to the open mic upon arrival.
