Bios:

Jerome Rothenberg is an internationally celebrated poet, translator and performer with over ninety books of poetry and twelve assemblages of traditional and avant-garde poetry such as Technicians of the Sacred and Poems for the Millennium, volumes 1-3. His most recent big books are Eye of Witness: A Jerome Rothenberg Reader and Barbaric Vast & Wild (Poems for the Millennium, volume 5), and recent books in French include Techniciens du Sacré (Jose Corti), Pologne/1931 and Khurbn (Caractères), Journal Seneca (Jose Corti), and Secouer la Citrouille (Presses Universitaires de Rouen et du Havre).  A new book of poems, A Field on Mars: Poems 2000-2015 is scheduled for publication by Jusqu’à (To) Publishers (Rouen) in joint English and French editions.

1975: joins the review Change (Jean Pierre Faye, Mitsou Ronat, Jacques Roubaud, Philippe Boyer, Jean Paris, Jean-Claude Montel, Léon Robel).

1979 : leaves Change.

Il tombe, P.O.L. / Hachette-Littérature. Novel.

1985: À trois jours de moi, Robert Laffont. Novel.

1981: Jerome Rothenberg, Poèmes pour le jeu du silence, avec Jean Pierre Faye et Jacques Roubaud. Translation.

 

Anne Talvaz was born in Brussels in 1963 and currently lives in the Paris area with her family after spending several years in China and Brazil. She is the author of three poetry collections, the latest of which is Confessions d’une Joconde (2010); she has also written a novel and a travel memoir. She works as a commercial translator as well as a literary translator and has translated collections by John Ashbery, Alice Notley and Jerome Rothenberg (among others) into French and a collection by Marie Etienne into English.

Poets Live will be back at Berkeley Books of Paris again on April 12.
