POETS LIVE presents Malik Crumpler and Edmund Hardy

Edmund Hardy is an essayist as well as a poet. He co-runs the magazines Capsule Editions & Intercapillary Space. His book, Complex Crosses (published 2014, Contraband Books), is an experimental critical history of poetry from Homer to the present, focusing on the figure of chiasmus. His oral history archive poems are collected in the quartet publication VierSomes OOO (Veer Books).He recently published a ballad for children in Cambridge Literary Review, as well as an essay on the political philology of democracy in Radical Philosophy magazine. He is currently also working on a comic dialogue novel of ‘sides’ and a travel-meditation on architecture and letters in the medieval landscape of the present.

Malik Ameer Crumpler is a genre-less word artist™, poet, rapper and music producer originally from Oakland, California. He has released a multitude of albums, short films and five books of poems: Drapetomania, Amber Hymns, Little Everywhere, Locked Language and Inevitable Mutations. He also founded the arts reviews: Madmen’s Calling, Satori Ideas Media, Visceral Brooklyn and Those That This. He is currently working on a genre-less novel called Rappers Anonymous while completing his MFA at Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. He performs his work regularly in New York and Paris.
