Deborah Bogen’s three books of poems are Let Me Open You a Swan, winner of the Elixir Press Antivenom Prize 2009, Landscape With Silos, National Poetry Series Finalist and XJ Kennedy Poetry Prize winner 2005, and Living by the Children’s Cemetery, ByLine Press Chapbook winner 2002. Her poems and reviews appear widely. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she teaches occasionally, writes a lot and plays ukulele in the Highland Park Mini Band. Currently she’s at work on a trio of novels set in the 13th century.

Andrew Shields, born in Detroit, has lived in Basel, Switzerland, since 1995. Cabinet d’Amateur (Darling), a bilingual pamphlet of poems with German translations by Ulrike Draesner, appeared in 2005; his debut full-length collection is Thomas Hardy Listens To Louis Armstrong (Eyewear, 2015). In addition, his band Human Shields released their debut CD, Somebody’s Hometown, in 2015. His translations from the German include works by Martin Heidegger, Hannah Arendt, Durs Grünbein, and two selections of the poetry of Dieter M. Gräf, Tousled Beauty and Tussi Research, both published by Green Integer. He has also translated many poems from the French, primarily by Jacques Réda.
