Triple Book Launch with Sophie Herxheimer, Pansy Maurer-Alvarez and Carol Watts

Primarily a visual artist, Sophie Herxheimer has held residencies for London International Festival of Theatre, Southbank Centre, The National Maritime Museum and Transport for London. Exhibitions include The Poetry Library and The National Portrait Gallery. Projects include a 300 metre tablecloth that ran the length of Southwark Bridge; a life-size concrete poem in the shape of Mrs Beeton; ongoing live story collecting in ink. Publications include Long Poem Magazine, Tears in the Fence, Poems In Which and The New Concrete. She recently won first prize in the Poetry Book fair competition. Recent books are The Listening Forest and VOYAGE. Sophie teaches and collaborates


Pansy Maurer-Alvarez was born in Puerto Rico, did her literary studies at universities in the US, Switzerland and Spain and now lives and writes (fulltime) in France. Her work appears regularly in magazines and anthologies throughout Europe and the US. Her latest books of poetry are Oranges in January (KFS Press, 2016) and In a Form of Suspension (corrupt press, 2014) and she has 4 previous collections. She is a contributing editor to the British magazine, Tears in the Fence and is the outgoing curator of the Poets Live reading series in Paris.


Carol Watts lives in London, and runs the Contemporary Poetics Research Centre at Birkbeck College. Her recent poetry includes the collections many weathers wildly comes (Spiralbound/Susakpress 2015), Sundog (Veer Books, 2013) and Occasionals (Reality Street Editions, 2011). 56, a collection with George Szirtes, will be published by Arc later this year. She is currently working on a project for vinyl called T.R.E.E. with the sound artist Will Montgomery, made from creaking trees and rare earths.


The last event of the Poets Live reading season will be on June 14 at Berkeley Books.
