Poets Live – Paris Magazine Night
This month Poets Live celebrates Anglophone magazines published in Paris with the participation of: Belleville Park Pages, Paris Lit Up, The Bastille and Upstairs at Duroc. Editors and contributors to the magazines will read and issues of the publications will be on sale at the book table.
Belleville Park Pages is a literary publication produced in Paris and London printing the work of contemporary writers. It is released every two weeks and costs €2/£2. Each issue is hand-folded, hand-stamped and hand-packaged with help of other artists in the Paris community. We hope to support the writing and reading communities as they develop in the modern world by connecting the printed word with digital media. The Pages will always be tangible, affordable and fresh. Founders/Curators: James Bird & Will Cox.
Paris Lit Up Magazine is a non-profit, independent publication featuring contemporary Parisian and international writers. The first issue features 124 pages of poetry, fiction, essays, an interview with Marilyn Hacker, photography and artwork from Parisian and international writers and artists. All proceeds go to sustaining this grassroots, non-profit publication. Editors: Jason Francis Mc Gimsey, Kate Noakes, Helen Cusack O’Keeffe, JP Poole.
Upstairs at Duroc is one of the longest running international literary and arts journals in Paris. For over 15 years it has promoted innovative English language writing from the Paris area and around the world.
It publishes both established and emerging writers in its yearly issues. Upstairs at Duroc is staffed by a team of editors composed of Paris-based writers and poets. Editors: Barbara Beck, Kate Robinson, Nina Karacosta, Augustine Blaisdell, Siobhan Marie Anderson.
The Bastille no.2 – Summer 2013 in your dreams celebrates the anglophone writing scene of SpokenWord Paris and further afield. It contains poems and prose from 48 authors. Editor: David Barnes.
