Spotlight: Uncle Lush

Paris Lit Up recently interviewed Daniel Wilner, AKA Uncle Lush, a rapper extraordinaire who has shared his talent on the stage at the PLU open mic at Culture Rapide many times. Usually our blog interviews happen on the page, but this experienced and talented performer figured he’d respond freestyle: catch his words below.

In the interview, Uncle Lush mentions his excitement about the recent release of a single “Wisest Man” which he cut as a part of the rap-duo Brotherz Grimm. It hits the ear like crack. Check it out on Spotify, Google Play, or YouTube.

Producing a polished song is impressive in a sterilized recording studio, yet Uncle Lush spits fire and lightning without prep. In the video below, he performs an entire set by responding to audience-written prompts, and never misses a beat.

Performers and artists will respect the relentless practice involved in making such a spontaneous production appear effortless. Below: another vid that highlights Uncle Lush’s smooth, straight-talking style.

Congrats, Uncle Lush, on the talent and expertise! We at PLU wish you the best of luck: fat wallets and fast cars.
