PLU Presents featuring Uncle Lush
Deconfinement continues in Paris; the patios and parks have reopened - most behave as if nothing happened, as if hasty glasses of wine and tiny bowls of peanuts could erase the pandemic. Others are still wary, peeking at the party-goers from behind plexiglass face-shields, or staring down from balconies.
Into this moment, artists take the stage; Daniel Wilner, AKA Uncle Lush, has generously contributed a live-performance of his rap. His talent is shocking, constantly varying in tone, fresh rhymes, polished banter - his experience as a performer is obvious. Here is an artist who has honed his craft, as demonstrated in his newest single, Wisest Man.
This episode of PLU Presents was hosted by an evil wizard. He strides the streets of posh Paris ranting about “skeleton hordes” and “dark magic.” What links does PLU have with the underworld, one wonders. Still, the wizard helpfully reminds viewers that the window to submit to the upcoming PLU8 magazine is closing. Does the wizard have the power he claims? Or is he just a fool in a cape?
Over the last ten episodes, over a hundred artists have contributed to PLU Presents. We are incredibly grateful for all the energy and enthusiasm. A few friends have even told us that PLU Presents helped them get through confinement. That really makes all the difference.
PLU Presents will change shape and you may see another episode in the future. However, our Wordtrip, a European poetry tour with artists performing from more than forty countries, is in full swing. Here is a carefully curated, meticulously assembled, collection of dazzling international art. Check it out.
